CAW’s corporate social responsibility is divided between focused projects and community based projects, with our intention to make a difference by supporting these projects that benefit historically disadvantaged sectors of our society.
We have aligned our CSR spend with our core business objectives, to meet the requirements of an increasingly strategic-focused corporate social responsibility approach for businesses in South Africa. This approach moves CSR out of the charitable domain into one in which true partnerships with beneficiaries bring about long-term sustainable development to the benefit of all.
CAW actively supports the following initiatives:
CAW are Life Members of iKhaya le themba, who offer holistic care and family support to orphaned and vulnerable children in Dunoon and Khayelitsha, Cape Town as they face the effects of poverty and crime. CAW staff are deep in the heart of iKhaya le Themba, and over many years we, as a company, have prayed, visited, supported, loved, fundraised, and championed their organization.
CAW has supported the Melkbos Care Centre for many years. The centre is a registered non-profit care facility for children and relies solely on the donations of individuals, companies and organisations to provide the care to these underprivileged children. The centre is a loving and caring place for orphaned and underprivileged children, many of whom live in homes affected by HIV Aids and substance abuse.
