VACANCY: ESTIMATOR – QUOTATIONS & TENDERS
CAW in Cape Town is seeking an experienced, organised and technically minded Estimator – Quotations & Tenders, to join our team in the electro-mechanical repairs and maintenance industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate quotations, estimates and tender submissions for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of:
• Electrical motors
• Gearboxes
• Alternators and generators
• Submersible pumps
• Bare-shaft pumps
• Related electro-mechanical equipment
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review technical enquiries, job specifications and tender documents
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and professional quotations
• Calculate labour, materials, subcontracting and delivery costs
• Obtain and compare pricing from suppliers
• Tender Knowledge and the compile off
• Follow up on outstanding quotations and tender submissions
• Maintain quotation registers, pricing records and supporting documents
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, sales staff and workshop teams
• Ensure quotations are completed accurately and within the required deadlines
• Assist with handovers to operations once quotations or tenders are awarded
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Experience in estimating, quotations or tenders within the electrical, mechanical or electro-mechanical industry
• Sound knowledge of electrical motors, pumps, gearboxes, generators or similar rotating equipment
• Ability to understand technical specifications and repair requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, sage or Accpac
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
• Good planning, administration, and deadline-management skills
• A relevant technical qualification will be advantageous
• Previous experience in an electro-mechanical repair workshop will be highly advantageous
